Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute has taken out a license for ARM Holdings Plc's ARM922T core. The institute said it would use the core in a number of mobile device projects. The institute already has a license for the ARM7TDMI core, and expects to have prototype information appliances based on that chip available next year. The institute employs 6,000 across 12 research divisions.
