British fears that US companies would reap the greatest financial benefits from a post-Saddam Iraq appear to be unfounded as Reg electronic emporium Cash'n'Carrion announces its first order from Baghdad.
Yup, no sooner had the dust settled than one Iraqi celebrated his country's incorporation into the happy family of international capitalism by ordering an example of our magnificent Hacker rubber sets.
Naturally, we hope that this is just the first of many such orders, and look forward to seeing Hacker shirts on every Nasiriyah street corner and O'Really apparel in every Tikrit tea shop. People of Iraq, welcome to democracy. ®
