Comedian lifts lid on working for Amazon.com

The TUC is giving away free tickets for people to see a comedy show about one man's experiences working for Amazon.com during the dotcom boom.

Mike Daisey's 21 Dog Years – Doing Time @ amazon.com promises to reveal the real and funny story of Amazon.com from a worker's perspective - slavishly long hours "fuelled by caffeine, fanaticism for the dotcom cause and illicit daytrading from office desks made out of doors".

According to the TUC (Trade Union Congress) Amazon.com is a "notoriously anti-union employer".

The show ends a day-long conference at which trade unionists will have found out about the latest union organising techniques and what they could come up against if they try to recruit members in anti-union workplaces.

Anyhow, Mike Daisey's show takes place on Saturday 23 November at 5.30pm at the TUC’s central London HQ.

Tickets for this take on the new economy are free and can be obtained by logging onto the TUC’s new work website www.worksmart.org.uk and entering into a special draw.

The competition is open to UK union members, their friends, their family, or other supporters. Only one entry per person.

Entries must be received by noon on the 15th November. The winners will be notified by email after the close.
