Eminister Stephen Timms and the minister for rural affairs, Alun Michaels, are to address a key conference which will examine how to bring affordable broadband to areas currently without high-speed Net access.
The conference, to be held on 27-28 January 2004, is being organised by the Access to Broadband Campaign (ABC), a not-for-profit outfit focused on promoting universal, affordable broadband access across the UK.
The conference - Revolution at the Edge: Broadband Networks and Innovation - will cover the technologies, strategy and business models that can be employed to help deliver affordable broadband access.
The two-day ABC Conference, is to be held at Cisco Europe Headquarters, near Heathrow. Further details can be found at ABC's Web site here.
ABC's first conference earlier this summer examined how to bring affordable broadband to rural areas and how to bridge the "digital divide". ®
