Palm m105 debuts on firm's Euro Web site

Palm has posted data on the successor to its m100 consumer-oriented PDA, the m105, suggesting availability is imminent, as we predicted here.
The details appear on the company's European Web site, suggesting the device will either ship over here first - a big step forward for the decidedly non-Eurocentric Palm - or European staff have jumped the gun on their US colleagues. Certainly at the time of writing, the US m105 pages had yet to be uploaded to Palm's servers.
As expected, the device is essentially an m100 but contains 8MB of memory rather than 2MB. It runs PalmOS 3.5, though lacking Flash RAM, it won't be upgradeable to PalmOS 4.0 when the new version of the operating system is launched later this month.
Unlike the m100, the m105 ships with a cradle to hold the device and connect it a host PC for downloading apps and synchronising data. Palm only provided the m100 with a simple connection cable. However, the company has still not got its act together on USB support, and will continue to force folk who want to use that bus to fork out another $50 or so for the relevant adaptor.
Pricing information was not included on the European Web site when we looked, but the m100 is expected to cost $199, $50 more than the m100. ®
