The Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) is hiring system administrators and its efforts to do so offer a hint of the technologies the nation's enemies need to crack.

The straight Sysadmin role pays up to $94k but you have to move to Canberra.

A degree in IT or something related will go down well, as will experience with virtualisation, Windows and/or Linux sysadminnery, something called “Administrative scripting” and Active Directory skills. Experience managing public key infrastructure will be highly-regarded.

ASenior Sysadmin gig pays up to $117k and needs someone familiar with the following skills:

Perhaps the jobs also come with the chance to hoover up lots of secret documents and send them to a journalist (Hello there!). Google “Edward Snowden” to see how that'll work out!

On a more serious note, that ASIO mentions VMware View and Active Directory in its public job listings just gave every foreign power curious to know what's going on at ASIO some useful knowledge. Or perhaps ASIO didn't, what with misdirection apparently being an important part of the intelligence caper.

Get the job and leak us the real info, please? ®
