Fujitsu’s technology products group lead Michael Keegan is moving up in the world, taking over as head of the UK and Ireland from Duncan Tait.

The company said in March that UK veep Tait was being given the top role in EMEIA as it shuffled its global hierarchy in a reorganisation that led to the resignations of nine senior execs.

Fujitsu collapsed its International Business structure into a new regional organisation consisting of Americas, Asia, Oceania, Japan and Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa. Nine top employees, including veeps like Hideyuki Saso and Kazuhiko Kato, have decided to leave the firm in the midst of the reorg.

The restructure aims to “promote increased collaboration amongst business units” and “take advantage of growing globalisation”, according to Fujitsu.

Keegan will head up the £1.8bn UK and Ireland business after three and a half years at the top of the countries’ tech products group. The company said that Keegan would be focusing the business on the private sector and defence as well as government contracts and products.

“I am excited to take on this new challenge. Duncan has built a solid foundation in the UK & Ireland which will allow us to continue to grow our region rapidly,” he said.

“With a more global approach to our business, we will be able to service our large private sector customers across borders, realising our full potential and becoming a formidable player in the IT sector globally.” ®
