Promo The Register has teamed up with Nokia UK to promote the firm’s rewards programme for Windows Phone and Windows 8 app devs.

Called DVLUP, the programme deploys a "gamification model" which allows members to compete with one another and test themselves. Developers can earn XP points and redeem them against a whole host of rewards, including app design consultations, flying lessons, help with app promotion and Nokia Lumia 1020 handsets.

Here are two point-winning challenges to whet your appetite.

The first challenge is simplicity itself: Create a version of one of your existing Windows Phone 8 apps or games for Windows 8, get it in store and you’ll receive a 250XP boost towards your next reward. The common development platform between the two makes this fairly straightforward.

You can also enter your Windows Phone 8/Windows 8 companion apps into the Cross-8 Master Mission in the Nokia Create competition. The developer of the best app will win a trip to Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, 5,000 DVLUP XPs, devices, promotions, a chance to be the Grand Prize winner and much more. Nine runners-up will also get a Nokia device and gear. All the details you need to enter the challenge can be found on DVLUP here. ®
