A source close to the situation reports that Nimbus Data has terminated a round dozen people in various US locations, including some staffers in Austin, Texas, who had just been recruited from Dell in October and November last year.

Nimbus Data is an all-flash array startup headquartered in South San Francisco.

Nine of the departing staffers are salespeople while the other three provided technical pre-sales support, a person close to the situation told The Register.

Harvesting the blooms of the all-flash array hothouse is most certainly not a bed of roses, just ask Violin Memory which lost a software CTO, CEO and COO in the last four weeks.

Nimbus set up an office in Austin late last year, and recruited several people from Dell as well as others to staff it up. LinkedIn shows nine people leaving Dell and joining Nimbus in Austin in October and November last year. Most are inside salespeople.

We have heard that six people have gone from the Nimbus Austin office, including five of the ex-Dell bods.

Nimbus now has Timothy Pollard as its EMEA head; he is based in Austria.

We received an off-the-record email providing some background, and the firm said it would send more information shortly. ®
