New exploding whale vid once again shows true porpoise of internet

Forget cute cats: here's another COMBUSTIBLE CETACEAN

As The Reg noted last month, exploding whales have made an important contribution to the Internet.

But in the years since that marvellous film was made, inferior cat videos have become the net's dominant video content (we're not counting smut, okay?) and deflected the internet from its manifest destiny.

Now, however, comes the very welcome news of a new exploding cetacean.

The beast in question reportedly died of natural causes before its carcass was hauled onto a dock in the Faroe Islands, where local boffins set about stripping its flesh in order to excavate its skeleton for display in a local museum.

In the video below, you'll see a local boffin get to work digging for bones with a nasty hook/knife implement.

At this point cunning Reg readers are probably thinking that a very large, rather dead, creature is going to have rather a lot of gas trapped somewhere within its innards. And that if the organ containing said gas isn't handled well, nasty things may result.

Let's roll tape to put that hypothesis to the test.

You were right, readers! Sticking that sharp object into the whale was a very bad idea. But also produced very funny results.

And you – the folks who make cat videos. This right here is your benchmark, okay? Just don't be mean to kitty. ®
