It's another of our weekly Wednesday tech podcasts, hosted by Greg Knieriemen, Ed Saipetch and Sarah Vela. This week Sarah is out enjoying Thanksgiving while Ed and Greg cook up a podcast with special guest Brian Gracely, who is EMC senior director of global solutions marketing and co-host of all-things-cloud podcast The Cloudcast.net.
Eddie and Greg sound positively lonely as they start chewing the fat without Sarah this week. Meanwhile, Brian says his greatest claim to fame is that he's the "most politically favourite friend" of Storagezilla, aka Mark Twomey of EMC. Ed muses about Google's Chromebook; his daughter loved it, right up until she tried to print from it. And Brian waxes lyrical about Amazon, prompting Greg to ask: why are CIOs everywhere falling in love with private clouds?
This week we discuss...
- Gracely as politician and back at EMC
- Savvis buys Tier3
- Eddie's Chromebook review
- Chromebook apps
- AWS RE:invent conference recap
- Amazon and the desktop
- AWS vs Private cloud
- Donut Run fundraiser
