Barclays Online OFFLINE: UK bank site, mobile app go titsup for the evening
Oh well. So. Pint?
Posted in On-Prem, 18th November 2013 21:08 GMT
Barclays' online banking service in the UK appears to have fallen over on Monday evening, leaving fuming customers unable to access their accounts.
Punters are complaining they cannot log into the website, nor use the bank's multiplatform mobile app. Right now, the site greets visitors with the message: "5 - Sorry - Barclays Online Banking is currently unavailable." Clicking the "Next" button brings up a page "not found" error message.
The "secure" site has been down for about an hour at time of writing, posing a headache for people juggling their money or even just buying stuff.
Naturally, customers have turned to Twitter to vent their frustration:
@BarclaysOnline are you seriously going to ignore us all until tomorrow morning? #goodoldfashionedcustomerservice

Barclays was unavailable for immediate comment, but by UK time they may be down the pub. We'll update this article when we've learned more. ®
