Show us your Cook: Size is everything for Apple iWatch fans, apparently

C'mon, Apple chief, where are those 'exciting new products'?

The Apple iWatch will come in two different sizes to fit the differing needs of fanbois and gurlz, it has been claimed.

The prediction will come as some relief to insecure male Apple lovers, as it shows their favourite firm believes size is far more important to men than it is to women.

According to a report in the Korea Herald, David Hsieh, vice president of the Greater China Market at DisplaySearch, told a conference in Taiwan that the iWatch will come with a 1.7-inch OLED screen for men and a 1.3-inch display for women.

Hsieh has form on Apple predictions, having successfully prophesied the iPhone 5, iPad Mini and iPad 3.

His firm also claimed that Apple had put the development of its long-awaited TV on hold while it focused on wearable tech. Paul Gagnon, director of North American TV research at DisplaySearch, said: “It appears that Apple’s long-rumoured TV plans, which were far from concrete anyway, have been put on hold again, possibly to be replaced by a rollout of wearable devices.”

Samsung and Sony have leapt ahead in the wearables market, with both firms releasing smart watches this year.

Despite constant rumours, Apple hasn't exactly worn its heart on its sleeves when it comes to its own wearable tech.

Tim Cook recently teased fanbois with the promise of "exciting new products" which will come later this year and through into 2014. Sadly, all we've seen so far is the iPad Air, which is about as exciting as ITV announcing a remake of Crossroads, and the iPad Mini (ditto).

So come on Cook: show us your innovations. ®
