The Register has a new official home on Twitter: @theregister.

Nearly 24,000 of you already follow that account, which until earlier today was named @regvulture.

But after hours of heated exchanges over cronuts and duffins, members of our scintillating Strategy Boutique team confirmed that our humble presence on Twitter needed a rejig in a move to consolidate the, er, El Reg brand.

The result, you may ask?

We kindly request that if you're into a bit of social meeja, then come find us here: @theregister. If you follow us already on our secondary accounts @ElReg or @regvulture - then, thank you, you're very kind, etc. But why not join the hordes of readers already having heaps of fun over at @theregister?

It is the only account we actually use to engage with you lovely bunch because, if you didn't pick up on this already, it is now where we Reg vultures hover. ®
