Telstra scrambles to fix voice
Business services borked

Telstra is scrambling to overcome an outage that ABC Radio is reporting has affected “tens of thousands” of business voice services nationwide.
The outage affects customers of Telstra's Digital Business service. Digital Business is a range of bundles covering both broadband connection and telephony.
At the time of writing, a Telstra spokesperson told The Register all services in Western Australia had been restored, and some services in South Australia. However, at the time of writing there remain 4,500 voice services offline in the eastern states.
The spokesperson said around one-third of these services are in NSW and the ACT.
“The root cause is still unknown, as our focus is on restoration then working out what went wrong. We apologise sincerely to customers and are working to restore services as quickly as possible,” the spokesperson said.
The Register is aware of speculation that a software upgrade led to the outage, but has been unable to confirm this. ®
