Officers investigating claims of computer hacking in relation to alleged voicemail interception and other offences at Rupert Murdoch's British newspaper group - News International - arrested another suspect this morning.

They said a 48-year-old man was manacled at a business premises in the Newcastle area earlier today.

The unnamed suspect from Northumberland is currently being held at a local police station under conspiracy to commit offences under Sections 1 and 3 of the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and Sections 1 and 2 of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.

Scotland Yard added that the man's home and business addresses were currently being searched by cops working on Operation Tuleta.

"The arrest relates [to] suspected business espionage and is not directly linked to any news organisation or the activities of journalists," the Met said.

This cuffing brings the total number of Op Tuleta suspects arrested to 17 the date. The probe is related to two other inquiries that remain active at the Yard: The high profile phone-hacking investigation (Op Weeting) and claims of corrupt payments to police and officials (Op Elveden). ®
