Three months' porridge for 'grossly offensive' trolling

A young man was jailed for 12 weeks today, after confessing to posting "grossly offensive" comments on Facebook about missing five-year-old April Jones.
He posted some bad taste jokes culled from Sickipedia on a support group for April Jones's family and friends, according to press reports.
Among the comments was: "I woke up this morning in the back of a transit van with two beautiful little girls, I found April in a hopeless place."
Another read: "Who in their right mind would abduct a ginger kid?"
Woods was arrested on Saturday night, "for his own safety", according to London's Evening Standard.
A spokeswoman at Chorley Magistrates' Court confirmed to The Register that Matthew Woods, 20, of Eaves Lane, Chorley, would serve his sentence at a young offenders' institution.
Woods was handed the three-month jail term for the offence under section 127 of the Communications Act 2003. The sentence meted out in such cases cannot exceed six months. ®
