Holidaymakers hoping to surreptitiously surf the net from the beach with their Three mobiles were stranded when an outage killed their signal.
Web addicts abroad were forced to entertain their kids instead of staring into the soothing glow from their smartphones when a network that carries international traffic for Three fell over at the weekend.
"3 customers trying to use their phones and dongles abroad may have had trouble getting connected," a spokesperson told The Reg in an emailed statement. "We’re sorry for any disruption, but the provider responsible has assured us that the issue has now been resolved."
A Three punter in the US said his phone was unable to use international roaming on Friday while another in France was also knocked offline just before the weekend. ®
