Sony left fans drooling today with a video-clip that teases an upcoming feature called "Dot Switch".

The 30-second clip shows a pair of hands use an Xperia handset to trigger various devices. The video is typically cryptic, linking to a website which highlights Dot Switch as "New entertainment from Sony".

Perhaps this is the "new kind of television set" Sony CEO Howard Stringer talked about in 2011.

Inspection of the Japanese text around the vid suggests some kind of "multi-screen entertainment" offering. FWIW, we reckon it's tech to transfer what you're watching on your TV straight to your phone or tablet. And back again.
