The UK space agency has launched a 'jobs feed' on its website to keep Brits up to date with all the career opportunities relating to exploration above and beyond Earth's skies.

Of course, the jobs won't actually be in space since the UK boffinry agency doesn't at the moment contribute astronauts for manned missions - this space jobs feed is more for engineers, project controllers and receptionists.

Any Brits who are hoping to boldly go where only a few people have gone before will have to go the usual route of joining the European Space Agency (ESA) or NASA's manned programmes, as the UK gives neither men nor money to these endeavours.

However, Blighty still has a "thriving international business" in its space sector, which has an annual turnover of £7.5bn, and there's room in that field for engineers, physicists, mathematicians, machinists, technicians and IT and software systems experts. Oh, and according to the latest batch of ads, one junior receptionist.

At the moment, the jobs list features opportunities with Surrey Satellite Technology, Avanti and Vega Space, "with more to be added soon", the agency said. The current UK growth strategy for the space industry should come up with 100,000 new jobs in the country in the next 20 years, it added. ®
