There's a long tradition of fans getting their idols etched into their flesh, but Top Gear presenter James May hasn't until now featured heavily on the list of hero-worship tattoos.

Cue this YouTube vid (some NSFW language), flagged up recently to astounded PistonHeads forum members:

Initially, we thought the whole thing was a bit creepy, but changed our minds when James May human canvas Jimbo said of his tattooist: "He's the same guy who also did the Audrey Hepburn portrait on the back of my leg."

Pure comedy gold, as is the YouTube comment which notes: "That is the best tattoo of James May on a leg I have ever seen."

Hopefully, it'll be the only tattoo of a Top Gear presenter we'll ever see, although we fear Jimbo is sitting on a couple of places "left big enough" to pay appropriate inked homage to Jezza Clarkson and Richard Hammond... ®
