A wave of frenzy failed to greet Hollywood star Sharon Stone when she officially welcomed home US troops from serving duty in Iraq and Afghanistan today - with a video posted on Facebook.

It would seem that these days a sleb need only offer such a heart-warming message via a social network. In 1954 it was very different when movie legend Marilyn Monroe visited troops in Korea, for example.

But fans of Basic Instinct star Stone appeared disappointed that she wasn't entertaining the troops in person. So far the We Welcome Home Our Troops page has had a paltry 73 'likes' at time of writing.

Even a 42-second video featuring Sharon Stone that was posted on the specially created page has failed to gain much interest from, well, anyone on Facebook.

We're quite certain this has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that no legs were crossed in the making of this vid. ®
