MacTel, Verizon score AGIMO gig
Panel adds another two to coveted gov roster
Enterprise grade telecommunications companies Macquarie Telecom and Verizon have secured coveted spots on the Australian Government Information Management Office's (AGIMO) Telecommunications Internet Based Network Connections (IBNC) Panel.
AGIMO announced the additions on its blog and said that further companies may be added to the panel in the near future, as negotiations and contractual arrangements are finalised.
The selected panel provides access to telecommunications carriage services, including major internet connections, which may be accessed through the Department of Finance and Deregulation.
Macquarie Telecom will provide "Internet Protocol Carriage Services" and "Major Internet Connection Services" to aid in the delivery of business services across the internet for government agencies.
The IBNC services panel has an initial term of three years. This may be extended by the Department of Finance and Deregulation for a further two one-year terms. The duo join Telstra, Fujitsu, Nextgen, AAPT, Dimension Data, TransACT, Alcatel Lucent and Optus on the supply panel.
Additionally, Macquarie Telecom became the 60th business to become a signatory to the department's Principles of Engagement, a set of standards and behaviours set out by the government for its business partners. ®
