Apple's online store is displaying its infamous "We'll be back soon" message.

The giant last night revealed that it would be releasing Mac OS X 10.7 Lion today. That will be delivered through the - as yet un-updated - Mac App Store, but presmumably Apple will be wanting to tweaking the Mac line-up's Apple Store graphics to reflect the fact they will now ship with the new OS.

And, quite possibly, the store is being uploaded with details of the new MacBook Airs World+Dog has been speculating about in recent months.

It's believed Apple was holding these back until Lion was completed.

Expect models sporting the very latest low-voltage Intel Sandy Bridge processors, more memory, bigger SSDs and Thunderbolt monitor/high-speed peripheral portage.

It's even being suggested in some quarters that the Air will become a de facto replacement for the current non-Pro white plastic MacBook. ®
