Are you a Sky subscriber? If so, you'll be able to watch Sky programming on your computer, tablet or phone for free.

Dubbed Sky Go, the service launches on 6 July and combines Sky Player and Sky Mobile TV.

The catch: each home can only register two devices. Presumably, if you want to register more, you can cough up the £15-40 Sky will be selling Sky Go access to non-subscribers for, depending on the channels you want.

Non-subscribers won't gain access until August, however.

Sky Go will deliver stacks of channels live to computers, but a more limited array - hence the phrase "selected" - of on-demand material.

And mobile users will be limited to "all five Sky Sports channels, ESPN and Sky News, with further channels to be added over time", Sky said.

Eventually, they will also be able to tap into Wi-Fi hotspots owned by The Cloud - now itself owned by Sky - for a hopefully better out-and-about connection - cheaper, certainly - than 3G can provide.

Sky will also remain available on Xbox and Fetch TV, but will be rebranded simply as Sky. ®
