A Californian man staged a dirty protest in a police cell after he was arrested half-naked in a cemetery.

Shawn Batie, 42, was nabbed in a boneyard near the town of Lodi, in California's Central Valley, after police were called to investigate reports of a half-naked man "yelling in the dark".

They found Batie "standing in the dirt next to the cemetery with a flashlight, yelling in the dark," local hacks at KRCA report.

As well as his torch, Batie was flashing a lot more besides, as he was wearing just an Oakland Raiders jacket, a G-string, socks, and a hair scrunchie around his genitals.

Batie reportedly told cops his pants "must have been taken".

However, law enforcement did not choose to follow up on the alleged pants theft, and instead reeled in Batie on suspicion of his being under the influence. They later confirmed he was high on crystal meth and was a parolee at large.

Batie clearly didn't find this amusing and, clearly stung over the apparent taking of his pants, staged made a "mess" in his cell, before smearing it on the walls. When given paper towels to clear it up, he clogged the toilet, prompting his removal to what the cops described as a "safety cell". ®
