UK mobile operator Three will sell you Dell's Inspiron Duo netbook-cum-tablet for 50 quid - if you take out a two-year, £41.52-a-month contract.

Dell sells the 3G-enabled combo machine - the display pivots within the lid's bezel to switch from netbook mode to tablet - for £499. That's rather more than the £50 Three wants, though you'll pay £996.48 for your 3G connectivity.

Three's data contract includes 5GB of data transfers a month.

The carrier is also offering subsidised Samsung Galaxy Tab and Commtiva N700 tablets, both 7in Android 2.2 jobs, though the N700 only has an 800 x 480 screen - the Tab's resolution is 1024 x 600.

It costs £199 on a two-year, £25-a-month contract, but one that includes 15GB of data. The N700's month sub is the same, but it costs £99 up front. ®
