Samsung is pitching its Galaxy Tab at the well-heeled. To that end, it is offering Europe's wealthiest citizens a Luxury Edition of the 7in Android tablet.

Will they be impressed? We don't think so. The Luxury Edition Tab, you see, is exactly the same as the version Samsung offers to the proles.

The whole lot costs €749 (£630).

According to fansite Samsung Hub, the Luxury Edition will be only available between 15 December 2010 and 31 January 2011.

So if you're the sort of buyer who thinks the iPad is just too bargain basement, you'd better get your chequebook out now...

Separately, Korea's Museum of Contemporary Art will be using the Tab as a "virtual curator" at a special exhibition, Outside the Silent Planet, to be held in May 2011. A presentation on the tablet will guide viewers around the collection of 400 objects.
