One hand on the wheel...

An Indianoplis man was pulled in by cops last week for drunk driving while watching porn.

Actually, he was only charged with drunk driving – Indiana law not appearing to have a law governing the viewing of smut while hurtling down the highway while nominally in control of a tonne-and-a-half of car. At least not at the moment.

According to local rag, the Indianoplis Star, cop Mike Leeper noticed a 2004 Dodge Intrepid "drifting left of centre" heading north near the City's Washington St.

Leeper pulled the car over shortly after, still unaware that the driver was apparently trying to pull one off.

In fact, so engrossed was Gregory Green, 53, that when he'd pulled over, Green put the car into reverse instead of Park, prompting Leeper to "yell several times for him to put it in park".

The gear stick safely in place, Leeper approached the car, only to see that Green had a portable DVD in the front of the car which was still running a dirty movie.

A blood alcohol test showed Green was more than twice the state's limit. The "strength" of the porn film and its effect on Green's blood system was not recorded.

Green was slapped with a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with a BAC over 0.15 per cent.

It does not appear he was charged for the smut movie, suggesting the state does not have a suitable law, or that it was too innocuous to constitute a distraction. ®
