Growing numbers of groaning gamers have signed an online petition to demand a full refund for the PS3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Despite the fact that Sony's console is able to outperform Microsoft's Xbox 360, the PS3 version of Black Ops allegedly comprises "sub-par graphics, buggy software and less [sic] features" than its 360 equivalent.

The petition references a recent analysis of the game which claimed it was "clearly superior looking" on the Xbox 360.

Publisher Activision and developer Treyarch have allegedly failed to deliver promised features, which include online split-screen functionality - an option that is available on the 360.

One petitioner, James of Melbourne, says: "PS3 Black Ops is a mess. I bought it off the back of the stellar Modern Warfare 2, and its [sic] delivered nothing but technical hitch after technical hitch, and I just can't play it anymore because it keeps kicking me out of lobbies and having connections interrupted! Not to mention shocking frame rate issues!"

In less than 24 hours, over 2000 people have signed the petition.

Activision, which recently set record sales figures with Black Ops, has yet to respond. ®
