Research in Motion (RIM) has launched the latest rev of the popular Bold series - the BlackBerry Bold 9780.

The biggest news is that 9780 is the first Bold to feature the new BlackBerry 6 OS. The handset has a 624MHz processor and 512MB on-board memory that can be boosted by a MicroSD card up to 32GB.

The addition of a 5Mp camera is accompanied by a 2.4in display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels.

The device rocks at 801.11b/g and has support for GM/EDGE/HSDPA, but it only claims 3G speeds of 3.6Mbps.

The BlackBerry Bold 9780 comes in two colours, black or flash white and shipping begins in November.

There's no official word on tariffs just yet, but UK reports suggest T-Mobile will offer the handset for free on a £30 a month, two-year contract.
