SCO's request to sell off its software business has been approved by the bankruptcy courts.

The Delaware court approved the motion to sell SCO's software business leaving a rump company to pursue what's left of its Linux legal action.

SCO's Unix is still in use, and still bringing in revenues.

Potential bidders must file interest, and evidence of assets to pay for the purchase, by 5 October. The next deadline is 5 November - the time limit for anyone objecting to the sale.

Then 8 November is the real D-Day when there will be a sale hearing and the highest bidder will likely get the business, assuming the court is satisfied.

Groklaw, as ever, has more. ®
