Orange jumps on BlackBerry Torch bandwagon

RIM holds a torch for 02?

Yesterday, we wrote that Vodafone was to sell RIM's BlackBerry Torch 9800 in the UK.

Our headline was wrong - we used the word 'exclusive', when we should have written first of the block - and we have changed the headline to reflect this.

For unlike the US where AT&T is getting a first run, RIM is spreading its affections with UK cellcos.

Orange UK is on board - although it doesn't have its act together yet on the publicity front, today issuing perhaps its shortest press release ever, confirming it will stock the Torch.

Also demo units at RIM's London press launch yesterday all contained O2 SIM cards, according to people who were there. Which is a bit of a giveway, really.

Which leaves T-Mobile, 3 and sundry MVNOs to show their hand. Surely they can't be so very far behind.
