Event Samsung is throwing down the gauntlet for app developers with a grand prize giveaway competition during its Dev Day here in London.

On 18 June at The Congress Centre, 23-28 Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3LS, Samsung will open its doors to developers with an event that promises to give them everything they need to produce and develop apps for the emerging bada platform.

The agenda for the day features a raft of speakers and presentations that cover everything from bada routes and markets and content management, to UI design and the broader multi-media experience. The event will also provide an introduction to ‘Samsung Apps’, Samsung's application store, and the company will be giving away plenty of prizes at the event. The day is packed full of Samsung experts so anyone can get answers to any questions they have. Make sure you come along for the ride.

You can register for the event for free right here.

The Global Developer Challenge, which runs in tandem with the event, welcomes everyone from anywhere around the globe to try their chance at winning a part of the prize pool, with a grand prize of $300,000 – part of a global pool of $2,700,000. Nice.

You might want to get sniffing around this. It’s the first release of the bada SDK (1.0.0b3) from Samsung. If you’re interested in taking the challenge it’ll definitely help.

We hope to see you there. ®
