Just over half of IT managers (54 per cent) think staff should be banned from watching the World Cup using PCs at work.

Why? because they think streaming madness will bring their corporate networks crashing down.

So says Bluecoat Systems, which does networky management stuff like stopping people watch the World Cup on their work PCs.

The company surveyed a bunch of IT managers, eighty per cent of whom thought employees would watch the World Cup at work. Few firms have a policy on video streaming, and so risk bandwidth overload, according to Blue Coat.

Never mind. So it's off to the pub along with world+dog.

Sound like a plan?
