Mac fanbois finally get Carakan of love with Opera 10.52
Shoots golden arrow at Apple
Norwegian browser maker Opera Software released a completed version of Opera 10.52 for the Apple Mac today.
The company had previously been beavering away at taking Opera 10.50 for Windows from pre-alpha to a final version in about 10 weeks, by releasing the browser just one day after Microsoft rolled out its Windows browser ballot screen to EU netizens in March.
But the Mac equivalent, it's fair to say, took something of a backseat until today.
Opera said that its 10.52 version of the browser was now available for both Intel and older PowerPC versions of the Mac, which is an interesting move given that Mozilla recently said it would officially ditch Firefox support for Apple Mac OS X 10.4 for upcoming versions of its browser.
Opera gave the browser interface a makeover for Mac fans, bringing the surfing tool more into line with its Windows-based counterpart.
The firm built the browser on Apple's Cocoa framework, added Growl, HTML5 and multi-touch trackpad support.
