The former Connecting for Health director Martin Bellamy is planning to leave his role in charge of the Cabinet Office team developing the G Cloud.

The Cabinet Office confirmed the move but declined to give the date of his departure. A spokesperson said that Bellamy is continuing with work on the G Cloud – the plan for an internet environment for digital storage and applications for the public sector - and the government's data strategy, and that the department is still considering his replacement.

Bellamy is understood to be moving to a new role at the National Offender Management Service within the Ministry of Justice, after less than 12 months in his current job.

He was previously a leading official on the NHS National Programme for IT (NPfIT). As director of programme and systems delivery for NHS Connecting for Health (CfH), the agency running NPfIT, he said that an overall four year delay in the programme was unacceptable.
