Humax set-top boxes will soon provide access to Sky's Sky Player service, the two companies said today.

An upcoming firmware update for Humax's HD-Fox T2 Freeview HD receiver - reviewed here - will allow users to view live programmes and catch-up content transmitted by Sky through its answer to BBC iPlayer.

The follow-up to the T2, a 500GB DVR due later this year, will have Sky Player on board from the outset.

Existing Sky subscribers will be able to use the service if they upgrade to a multi-room package - an extra £10 a month, or free if you take Sky Movies. Other viewers will have to take out a specific Sky Player subscription costing at least £15 - more if you want to watch certain channels, including Sky Sports and Sky Movies. ®
