Ex-SAP boss Léo Apotheker has taken on a director role at US firm GT Nexus, just two months after quitting his job at the German biz software company.

"We are very excited and pleased to have Léo with us," said GT Nexus chairman and CEO Aaron Sasson.

"His industry experience and knowledge will be huge assets for us as we expand and continue building traction as the mission-critical infrastructure that companies rely on for global trade."

In April 2008 Apotheker shared CEO responsibilities at SAP alongside Henning Kagermann, who retired in July last year.

However, after seven months in the top job, Apotheker walked away from SAP by mutual agreement in February, after its board decided to split leadership at the company.

Apotheker had worked at SAP since 1988 when he joined as boss of SAP France.

He was replaced by a brace of CEOs. Bill McDermott, who was head of field operations and Jim Hagermann Snabe - previously head of product development. ®
