Elgato has updated its EyeTV iPhone app to allow users to stream digital TV over 3G connections.

EyeTV previously could only relay programmes sent over a Wi-Fi network by a Mac running Elgato's TV tuner software, also called EyeTV. But Apple has relaxed the rules about pumping data out over the mobile phone networks, and EyeTV iPhone has been upgraded accordingly.

The new release, 1.0.2, is free to existing users, but costs £3 if you're buying it fresh. It requires a Mac running EyeTV 3.3.3, which costs £60 on its own or comes free with one of Elgato's TV tuners. ®
