The Pirate Bay appeal finally has a tentative autumn 2010 date set for the founders of the infamous BitTorrent tracker website.

In April last year Peter Sunde, Carl Lundström, Frederik Neij and Gottfrid Svartholm Warg were found guilty in a Swedish court of being accessories to breaching copyright laws.

Immediately after the four men said they would appeal the decision, which saw the founders handed one-year prison sentences and fines of 30 million kronor (£2.8m).

According to the Svea Court of Appeals in Sweden, Sunde, Lundström, Neij and Svartholm Warg might see their appeal dates booked in between 28 September and 15 October this year.

Pirate Bay mouthpiece Sunde said via his Twitter account last week, that he'll be unable to attend those dates.

"Case set to be heard AFTER Swedish election. We're only available before the election. Who said this case is NOT political? LOL!"

However, he didn't explain where he - or indeed his TPB cohorts - would be after the election. ®
