With the ski season now firmly upon us, gadget-crazed powder lovers should be thankful that the world’s first snow goggle with an integrated digital camera is en-route to the slopes.

Liquid Image's snow goggle: capture snowy memories with pictures and video

The Summit Series 335 Snow Camera Goggle features a 5Mp lens inside, which manufacturer Liquid Image promised can capture both wide-angle stills and 720 x 480p video at 30fps as you carve a line through the snow.

Camera controls are integrated into the snow goggle itself and can be operated while still wearing your gloves, Liquid Image promised. One button controls the power and lens modes, while the other button operates the shutter.

LEDs inside the goggle show the user that everything is working as it should and battery life is said to extend to 2200 still images or to over two hours of off-piste video capture.

Though the goggle itself only has a 16MB Flash capacity, storage space can be expanded by slipping a Micro SD into the on-board memory card slot. The goggle even has a USB port – should you fancy moving images onto your PC without getting your eyes cold.

Liquid Image’s Summit Series 335 Snow Camera Goggle will be available later this year, priced at roughly $150 (£93/€103). ®
