On Demand Most IT Professionals nowadays have tried virtualisation of some kind or another – whether it’s dabbling on the desktop, super-charging servers or apportioning activity to application delivery.

Rolling these developments out into production scale systems hasn’t hit the mainstream just yet. It’s no surprise either. Defining a business case and having the confidence and budget to push virtualisation wholeheartedly into production scale systems isn’t easy.

But we have some free help for you.

Last week we had a studio packed with experts who provided step-by-step guidance through the process of taking virtualisation into the real world, with real applications and real volume services. You can watch the video and see them walk through the planning process for production scale virtualisation projects. They’ll get you thinking about the risks of such a venture, some of the likely budgeting issues and they’ll explain how to get the right management in place for these systems.

The event is hosted by Tim Phillips from The Register and he’s joined by Neil Sanderson, UK Product Manager, for Virtualisation and Management at Microsoft, and Jon Collins, managing director of independent research house Freeform Dynamics.

For those of you that are thinking about the next steps for virtualisation in your business, this should be just the ticket. We hope to see you there. ®
