UK2 email migration still not finished

Seventeen days and counting

Hosting company UK2 has still not finished migrating customer emails across to a new system.

Just to recap: on 6 November, one week after the original problems, UK2's managing director Martin Baker promised us all mails would be restored by Sunday night. On Monday, the mails still hadn't moved.

On Tuesday 10 November, network congestion was slowing the process.

On Thursday morning, Baker told us everything would be back to normal within 24 hours.

So it is difficult to explain this email received by a Reg reader, which said:

Unfortunately, we still do not have an ETA as to when the transfer of emails will be finished. Any updates on this issue will be posted at the status blog at status.uk2.net. We thank you for your patience.

The reader is beginning to doubt UK2's frequent promises that all his mail is safely stored away. He also criticised the firm for not updating its status page.

We've asked UK2 for a response - it told us it was investigating. ®
