Xbox 360 gamers must wait another 12 months before they can lay their hands on Microsoft’s Project Natal, it has been revealed.

The company has reportedly told developers that the motion-based controller will launch in November 2010.

Natal's global launch date came to light during a series of 'behind closed doors' meetings between Microsoft and various UK games publishers and studios, according to a report by gaming website MCV.

Microsoft’s meetings – apparently designed to spur development support for Natal – also reportedly revealed that the unit could attract a standalone price of between £30 and £50 ($50-80/€34-55).

It’s believed that Microsoft will release 5m Natal units globally on the first day of sales, with 14 games launched for use with the device from day one.

While Microsoft and its sometimes outspoken CEO, Steve Ballmer, have kept relatively quiet about Natal since its official unveiling at the E3 videogames conference, a company executive has already hinted that it’s unlikely gamers will be able to patchexisting titles so they can be used with Natal. ®
