London techies get kit off for charity
'Tasteful' Nude Tech 2010 calendar
There is some really quite exciting news today for those of you who've spent years wondering just how you could justifiably buy photographs of butt-naked London tech entrepreneurs: check out the forthcoming Nude Tech 2010 calendar, featuring 24 disrobed IT movers and shakers, and all in aid of charity.
The calendar goes on sale on 2 November, at 10 quid a pop, and all proceeds go to Take Heart India, a charity "focused on practical education projects in India".
The whole thing is sponsored by iomart Hosting, so we were hoping for the odd entrepreneurial minx or gym-toned tech hulk wrapped provocatively around a suggestive server rack. Sadly, Cambridge uni English student Milo Yiannopoulos, who thought up the idea, said: "It's all going to be shot very tastefully, and sold online."
Participant Alicia Navarro (founder of online marketing outfit Skimlinks and seen in vid in stripey top), will not then be snapped distastefully and punted under the counter, but did offer: "I think we can attract more girls into IT by showing we are a very fun bunch."
Fair enough. Unfortunately, the wheels came off a similar Reg plan for a Nude Geek 2010 calendar when our photographer found their clothes could only be surgically removed by medics fully conversant with severe biohazard procedures. ®
