The PlayStation Portable Go only launched in the UK last week, but Blighty's retailers have already kicked off a PSP price war.

Sony’s RRP for the PSP Go is £225 ($360/€244), but Amazon’s UK arm has already slashed its asking price for the console to £200 – a £25 saving.

HMV and Game have followed suit. But Currys is refusing to budge, with its website is stilling listing the handheld at full price.

Amazon has also gone one better than the likes of HMV and Game, by slashing the price of official PSP Go accessories.

The online retail giant has, for example, cut its asking price for the PSP Go Explore pack – which turns the system into a GPS navigator – down from £105 to just under £97.

Amazon has also cut the cost of the PSP Go official leather slip case by 15 per cent, down from £20. ®
