Register Hardware’s iPhone-owning hacks get annoyed when their devices go down. But one man in North American is claimed to have became so frustrated with his faulty Apple smartphone that he threatened to shoot it.
After walking into a local Apple store, Donald Goodrich - aged 38, from Westwood, Cincinnati – allegedly said to an employee he was “so mad” with his handset he “could pop a 9mm at it”, local news service WCPO reports.
It’s also alleged that Goodrich then opened his shirt to reveal a 9mm handgun, adding: “I’ll do it right now. Look!”
The store manager called the police, and subsequently Goodrich was charged with aggravated menacing and causing fear of harm to the employee.
Goodrich was not immediately charged with possessing a concealed firearm because he has a permit to do so. However, he may yet be so charged because he allegedly failed to tell the police that he was packing a piece.
The iPhone has been placed in a smartphone protection programme. ®
