A British university has written an iPhone application to help its freshers find their way to pubs and cash machines lectures and the library.
UCLan's iPhone app should help students with daily life
The University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) iPhone app apparently lets students keep up with the latest news and events from around the campus, find their way around town and locate specific services – though we doubt the telephone number for Domino’s Pizza features.
Students can also use the app to book tickets for upcoming events at the university’s 53 Degrees bar or read about university life in the…ahem…Alternative Guide to UCLan.

Once students are up to speed with the local city’s finest nightclub – Tokyo Joe’s Lava Ignite – and various takeaways and pubs, they can use the iPhone app to check their UCLan email accounts.
The app also provides access to floor plans of the university’s library, but won’t return books on your behalf, take lecture notes while you’re sleeping or write those pesky essays.
