Jobs sighted, reality distortion field primed for WWDC?
Miraculous use of Apple HQ main door
Evidence has surfaced that Steve Jobs may be hale and hearty enough to put in an appearance during Apple senior vice president of worldwide product marketing Phil Schiller's keynote presentation at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 8th.
For one, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak reported Wednesday to attendees at the D: All Things Digital conference that Steve Jobs sounded "healthy, energetic" and that Jobs “doesn’t sound like he's sick."
Today, however, comes another encouraging tidbit. According to the Italian Mac-centric website setteB.IT, "More than one source has confirmed" that Jobs showed up (Google translation) at the Apple campus for an executive confab on Wednesday.
Not only did he show up, writes setteB.IT, but he parked his Mercedes in his customary two parking spaces and entered the Apple offices through the "main entrance."
Not through the special top-secret entrance for gravely ill Fortune 500 CEOs, we must surmise.
What exactly these two data points mean is, of course, a mystery - but any good news, however spotty, is welcome.
Hang in there, Steve. We don't expect you to return to Apple until the end of June, as previously announced. But it would be strangely fitting if, at the conclusion of Schiller's keynote, you yourself became the "one last thing" brought on to keep the crowd happy. ®
